Maximilian Haslberger

Born 1984 in Minneapolis,USA. After graduating from high school Maximilian Haslberger studied for one year at the der Université Paris- Sorbonne. In 2007 he began his degree at the Filmakademie Baden- Württemberg, which he completed in 2013. In 2010 he founded his production company AMERIKAFILM, with which he produced the German-Brazilian co-production BRASA by Sebastian Mez and the German-Egyptian co-production IT WAS RELATED TO ME by Mohammad Shawky Hassan. The feature ICH WILL MICH NICHT KÜNSTLICH AUFREGEN by Max Linz was completed in 2014 and premiered at the International Film Festival Berlin.

Martin Backhaus

Born 1985 in Bonn, Martin Backhaus had his first experience in filmmaking in 2004 with the feature film ROLLTREPPE ABWÄRTS, which made it to German Cinemas in 2006. He collaborated with Simon J. Paetau on many projects, inluding the semi-documental film OURY JALLOH, which won the German Human Rights Film Prize in 2008. From 2008 to 2013 he studied filmproduction at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg with a specialization in Animation & VFX Producing since 2010 at the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction. In 2011 he participated in the MEDIA training programme Animation Sans Frontières. Recently he produced several Animation, Documentary, Visual Effects and Post-Production projects.

Jasper Mielke

Jasper Philipp Mielke was born 1982 in beautiful Ratzeburg in the north of Germany. After completing the A-level, he studied Applied Media Economics in 2004 at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. In 2007 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From 2006 until 2010 he worked, beginning as a trainee and later in a permanent position, as a production manager and producer for avanti media Film- and TV-Production Company based in Berlin. During that time, he worked among others at the ARTE documentary series INTO THE NIGHT... and other documentary films for German Public Broadcasts Services. Since October 2010 he is studying film production focused on International Producing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Since that time he realized different Shortfilms and Documentaries as a producer.

Sebastian Mez

Sebastian Mez was born in 1982 in Essen, Germany. In October 2007, Sebastian began to study at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, specializing in directing. His first short CLEAN UP was shown at more than 40 international film festivals. His film A letter from Germany, which takes a special approach onto the subject of modern slavery and prostitution in Europe, won the international middle length competition at Visions du Réel in Nyon in 2011. His first feauture METAMORPHOSEN premiered at the Berlinale 2013 followed by numerous festivals like BAFICI, Indie Lisboa and CPH:DOX. Sebastian Mez lives and works in Berlin.

Katharina Fiedler

Katharina Fiedler was born on July 15th, 1982 in Wetzlar / Germany. From October 2006 until April 2011 she studied at the Filmakademie Baden- Württemberg (editing) and finished the university with a diploma. Her thesis film EIN BRIEF AUS DEUTSCHLAND was shown at several Festivals worldwide and won the Prix George Foundation 2011 at Vision du Réel in Nyon. In February 2013 METAMORPHOSEN had its world premiere at the Berlinale and is now shown at several film festivals worldwide. It was also nominated for the First Steps Award. Her current film MY NAME IS SALT won the IDFA Award for First Appearance in Amsterdam. In February 2014 she was selected for Berlinale Talents. Since 2003 she is working as a freelance editor. She lives and works in Berlin.
